What is an RDHAP?

An RDHAP is a Registered Dental Hygienist that has had additional education and specialized training in physically or mentally compromised individuals. They have passed a state board to obtain a license that allows them to provide preventive dental services to those who don't have easy access to a traditional dental office without the dentist’s presence. These include:

• Skilled Nursing Facilities/Independent Care Facilities

• Assisted Living Facilities

• Group Homes

• Home of those who are homebound

• Hospitals

• Adult and Special Needs Daycare

• Schools/Headstart programs

• Areas of Dental Professional Shortage such as Shasta and Tehama county
